discoverer 0.05 =============== WHAT IS DISCOVERER? discoverer is a litte program which might help debugging IrDA issues. It shows all reachable IrDA devices and displays some information about them. You can also use discoverer to change your IrDA options (/proc/sys/net/irda/*). WARNING: discoverer is in early beta state, running it as root or giving it setuid root privileges might open big security holes or make your microwave oven explode. I warned you! discoverer was optimized to run on the Agenda VR3, but it is not limited to it. You can run it on any machine, provided you have FLTK and a linux kernel :) WHAT DOES DISCOVERER DO? discoverer asks the kernel for a list of IrDA devices and shows them in the upper window. By clicking on one of them you can see its hints (which kind of device it is and which services it offers). The update interval is hard coded into the program and set to 1 sec (which seems not to produce very high loads even on my VR3). WHAT IS DISCOVERER PLANNED TO DO SOME DAY IN THE FAR FUTURE? * send files via IrOBEX (for vcard exchange and file transfer) * show all irda traffic (like irdadump) * bake cookies * gain world domination WHOM CAN I BLAME IF DISCOVERER MADE MY GIRLFRIEND LEAVE ME?
